Positions in Satellite Swath Data

There are some unexplained position differences between NSCAT-2 and Ku2000. Here are plots of revolution 1177 in a small area of the Labrador Sea on 11/7/1996 from NSCAT-2:

NSCAT-2, and KU2000. The longitude values of a few selected WVC's are marked on the plots. Careful comparison shows that almost no positions are exactly the same, and that the western swath edge in KU2000 is consistently ca. 0.1 ° to the east of the NSCAT-2 positions. The otherwise regular spacing of the KU2000 WVC's suggests that those most western positions are questionable.
