QSCAT div & curl and Ocean Surface Currents
The following figures include drifter observations, blended QSCAT/NCEP surface winds, and QSCAT satellite surface winds:
-
Ocean Surface Currents: from ocean surface drifters, 25-yr average, 1978 to 2002, 1/2 ° resolution,
-
QSCAT/NCEP Blended Winds: 4-yr average, July 1999 to June 2003, 1/2 ° resolution,
-
QSCAT Satellite Winds: 3-yr average (from OSU), August 1999 to July 2002, 1/4 ° resolution.
Displayed surface winds are 4-yr blended wind averages. For clarity, however, only every third
wind vector is plotted.
