Photometry
In a reconstructed image from HESSI, the total count rate in
the image is well-defined by the data and is constant, regardless
of the reconstruction algorithm used.
Hence, spurious sources “steal” counts from real sources.
Since the Pixon algorithm is particularly good at suppressing
spurious sources, it is also particularly good at photometry.
